Food for thought!

The other day I'd been for an outing with my friends to a fine dining restaurant. There was a lot of excitement about it as Zomato had rated it in the number one spot in trending section (& it was consistently there for weeks). Well it was nothing less than what it was mentioned. All those foodie reviews and images that would make one drool were in fact true.

I had an interesting observation made as we sat down on our booked tables (oh yeah booking is a must, other than the discount you get on the meal there’s a mad rush too). As one of our folks was late we were kept waiting. I could see many of us (including me) getting restless and kind of annoyed too as we could smell and witness the barbeque being grilled. Yes, fortunately or unfortunately we got the table which had the view to the kitchen. Damn! I was wondering how food could make so much of impact on us.

After the dinner, which was more than just dinner with live magic acts, the staff dancing to goan songs (more like a flash mob), a live band and hell charged up spontaneity filled ambience, we were all on a melancholic high. Like literally, happiness was blasting in all senses. There is actually something that delicious food can do to you. Of course company matters too! But as they say a way to man’s heart is through his food. This applies for all people in general.

So by this point some of you might be thinking this guy must’ve gone for a dinner outing for the first time in his life or the last time was when he used to refer food as ‘’mum-mum’’ or this guy was on a date, he just wants to tell it in some way to make it memorable for the girl (I respect all those crazy thoughts, but nonetheless I'll have to disappoint you for what I'm writing is truth)

Never-mind. The truth is every one of us is a foodie. If not always, those special times when we just can’t resist splurging our hearts out. The contentment you get on eating delicious meal is unmatched (fast food not included. It’s just waste dumped by the foreigners in our belly under the name of FDI). Home-made cooked food served with love from your mom, after hours of trekking finally finding a roadside stall serving snacks, going to a simple yet amazing restaurant with your people after planning it for months. The sheer level of joy in all this is indescribable. The burp of contentment at the end will tell you how happy you are cause happy tummy is happy soul!

Next time you feel a bit low, try eating something which you relish till you’re full. Let me know your experiences.

P.I: Cooking something yourself and eating will add to the joy (unless it’s not burnt). But maggi and coffee isn't included since every tom, dick and harry can make it, right? So go ahead put your chef hats on and make that smile glow on your face. If not, go on an eating spree.

Bon appetite!
