Revamp yourself

So here we’re in the final week of this year! 2014. What a year it has been. The Ebola outbreak, disappearance of Malaysian airline flight 370, the Islamic state of ISIS and its beheadings, Germany winning the FIFA world cup, India’s successful mars orbiter mission (mangalyaan), A-list internet sex scandal, IPL betting scandal involving bigwigs, Peshawar tragedy, Swachata abhiyan, Saradha chit scam, the rise of a chai wala to become PM of the world’s largest democracy being some of the highlights. A hell of roller coaster rides. Personally speaking, it was not so good year. But still it might’ve been a very good year for some. Irrespective of what happened, good or bad, our constant motive should be to revamp our self; to extract the good from everything. Take things as a guidelines and evolve as a better person. After all things happen for a reason. But do not get demoralised by the incidents if any of them have hampered you. As a friend of mine insists me to ‘’Always take the l...

Living outside the box!

This post is specially dedicated to the people who stay away from their home for achieving some goals or at least have been once a part of this in their life time. First of all cheers to you all! P.I: It doesn't include short trips or vacations. It’s said life begins at the end of your comfort zone and a testimony to it is the people who stay away from their home & family; maybe for education, job, fulfilling some commitments etc. I recommend all of you to go out of your zones and explore the world outside. It teaches you a lot more than what you intend to. It makes you rich in experiences and teaches you how to handle situations and people effectively. Once you are outside your nest, with a nasty amount of independence, you'll also realize the certain amount of challenges you get with it. Homesick being the biggest factor. It’s not all goodie goodie as it may seem. But yeah it’s not that bad too.  Hostel/PG life as alluring as it may sound has its own catch...

Food for thought!

The other day I'd been for an outing with my friends to a fine dining restaurant. There was a lot of excitement about it as Zomato had rated it in the number one spot in trending section (& it was consistently there for weeks). Well it was nothing less than what it was mentioned. All those foodie reviews and images that would make one drool were in fact true.  I had an interesting observation made as we sat down on our booked tables (oh yeah booking is a must, other than the discount you get on the meal there’s a mad rush too). As one of our folks was late we were kept waiting. I could see many of us (including me) getting restless and kind of annoyed too as we could smell and witness the barbeque being grilled. Yes, fortunately or unfortunately we got the table which had the view to the kitchen. Damn! I was wondering how food could make so much of impact on us. After the dinner, which was more than just dinner with live magic acts, the staff dancing to goan son...

The Nutshells called Friends

Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another “What! You too? I thought I was the only one” said a legend. So who are exactly friends? Why do we dwell into em so much? Inspite of us having a dozen of cousin, sibling, peer group and of course our parents. So much that our thought processes, emotions and to some extent decisions are driven in that way.  We always have a special niche carved for our friends. Even though they are no less of an exception that they will misunderstand or hurt you. But as Bob Marley had once said “The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.” I feel this is an apt description of who friends are. Maybe that is why we get back to them sooner or later after a quarrel or dispute. We just can’t do without the warm companionship of a good, loving and slightly nut crack friend. There are some who have friends in almost every sphere of the earth while there are some who are choosy and...

Group ki masti or G masti ??

Well some of you might be wondering why such a weird title. The reason behind it n all. So let me tell you about it. I had been down to Goa for my vacations and in such holidays you get lot of idle time for your so called brain storming sessions. One thing led to another and it was a series of thoughts. I found that as we grow up we get so narrowed down that we avoid big group of friends. Sub groups occur since we feel we have too many differences or the same people with whom we had the most awesome times are now boring. We become more choosy or maybe weird and the group gets fragmented. Every one has his own ways, agreed! But I think friendship is enough for you to make everyone stick together. Many people get distanced away or reduce contacts after their graduation, some get too heavily into a relationship that it seems as if they are already married to a nagging wife "Aye mister, you better spend your time more with me", some get too serious about life wondering what ...

Selfies, selfies & more selfies

Gone are the days when a picture was supposed to be sensible and pictures were solely meant for creating memories. Several types of photography emerged; portrait, wildlife, landscape. All was good until a bug named selfies started eating the brains of one and all. True, it always existed. Every one of us has at least once tried when we didn't even know what it meant. It was just the craze of getting oneself clicked. But then, it was sane since it wasn't exaggerated. I don't know which dumb-ass thought of making this selfie a trend. Within some time, the selfie stuff got viral. You could literally see every one clicking. All you need is a cam. Doesn't matter which. Mobile cams being commonly used, doesn't rule out DSLR's. I know of thin framed people clicking themselves in mirror with DSLR holding it at weird angles. "True it's hurting my wrist, but I'll give a smile untill its broken"  Sigh! It was more often seen to be a fad wit...

Transitions (Pune intented)

This is one of the major transitional phase I'm undergoing through. Shifting to a new place far away from home, away from your parents, friends, peers etc. New places, new people, new experiences, it's all synonymous. Its all part and parcel  when you leave home, kind of a package offer . This one transition led to another, shifting to Pune for studies wasn't that simple as it looked. They say "Pune tithe kaay oone". Yeah. wow! so true. Besides, the conventional problems faced by everyone alike while shifting viz. weather, food and place in general. There are many more aspects to this place. Pune, the word itself speaks volumes about it. The people especially, they are some out of the universe creatures. Endemic and crazy for sure! The people affect the places and obviously the organisations and institutions. Basically any stuff that is run by people here has its own Puneri signature to it. For instance my admission procedure which looks & sounds so s...

Back with a bloggy bang :P

So it's been a long time since I've written a blog. After years, I'm back to it. This time cause of another friend of mine. Thank you mate! Cheers. Let's see for how long this stint continues. Hopefully more than a year. Well more than will, I'll need continuous pestering to keep on writing and hopefully go full down throttle with it. The way summer season seems to be ghastly eating up the water resources, the same way its going on with my thoughts. Needless to say, it's summer making me ponder, what to write with the cursor being stationary at the same place for a couple of minutes to write the next sentence. Writing your first blog is always tricky. not like you don't know what to write. There are many things to write but then you cant write all of them in the first post itself. Saal bhar yeh hi kachra toh jhadna hai . So this was just a way to restart things. Perhaps a short introductory fresher's course. Hopefully it'll sustain. Till th...
