Revamp yourself

So here we’re in the final week of this year! 2014. What a year it has been. The Ebola outbreak, disappearance of Malaysian airline flight 370, the Islamic state of ISIS and its beheadings, Germany winning the FIFA world cup, India’s successful mars orbiter mission (mangalyaan), A-list internet sex scandal, IPL betting scandal involving bigwigs, Peshawar tragedy, Swachata abhiyan, Saradha chit scam, the rise of a chai wala to become PM of the world’s largest democracy being some of the highlights. A hell of roller coaster rides.

Personally speaking, it was not so good year. But still it might’ve been a very good year for some. Irrespective of what happened, good or bad, our constant motive should be to revamp our self; to extract the good from everything. Take things as a guidelines and evolve as a better person. After all things happen for a reason. But do not get demoralised by the incidents if any of them have hampered you. As a friend of mine insists me to ‘’Always take the lessons and move ahead not the stories.’’

So it’s a new year, a new beginning. Let us start afresh our lives. Many of us try making resolutions in an attempt to improvise ourselves. Most of the people fail, while few succeed cause it’s actually too stupid forcing yourself to a boring routine. Simple things can be done to make life interesting. We talk & aim big things like change in attitude and accordingly plan impossible resolutions which is why we probably lose interest in it. A more effective approach would be to plan simple and something unique.

For instance, we can buy tickets for all our fellow travellers in bus. Simple but genuine kindness. We all live a stressful life. A surprising kind gesture certainly overwhelms everyone. In addition to the satisfaction of being the reason for happiness of people, you’ll also develop the habit of selflessness and generosity. Life actually seems amazing when we do good deeds like this. Everyday make at least one stranger happy and see the difference.

We’re surrounded with lots of negativity as man is increasingly becoming selfish and evil. The rise in terror attacks and crimes is just an indication of the same. There is an ever increasing need to rise up above all the hate and indifference and do good to everyone irrespective of their background. We’re here on this planet for a very small time. Let’s make it worthwhile. Do not hold grudges and have hard feelings for anyone as we do not know this might be the last time we hear from them. Love more & laugh even more.

Let us make a sincere effort to revamp our self and mend our ways to be the best we can be, for life is best enjoyed when it is simple & true. Be crazy yet sensitive. May the goodness in you flourish. Amen.

Lastly, before I sign off…

Happy New Year, folks.
Party responsibly. Please don’t drink & drive

See you in 2015!
