Never grow up!
BEWARE: Entering nostalgia mode! The best times of our life
- childhood days. Sweet, plain & simple. The fun, frolic, curiosity,
innocence, fearlessness and stupidity is pretty much everything that
characterises ones childhood.
Right from the time we’re born. Anything and everything amuses us to no end. We don’t understand whether it’s meant for us, silly or dangerous, fun or nonsensical. We just love to explore everything. Right from opening up a toy to see what’s inside to eating any random stuff. The madness is undefined and unlimited.

Fear is an unknown term & we attempt to do some amazing
stunts which would scare us to hell even now. For instance, I remember during
my childhood, I’d once put my finger inside a working sewing machine. The
needle had went through the finger and I was smiling when my mother came inside
the room apparently because I found it novel. (Can needles too poke inside? Yeah
they do was the answer I got) oh yes, it is strange, I didn’t cry! Then again
even if we did mad stuff, at the end of the day, we were the darling of their
eyes. How could someone be mad at a kid? The innocence spoke for us and always
managed us to get us out of sticky conditions even in public level scams.
Relationships were genuine and unadulterated. Parents
especially mum was inseparable. Friends were on par with family. Fights didn’t
last beyond katti-batti and sharing was never unbiased. (Of course some dear
toys are never meant to be shared. NEVER). Something which we all lose out as
we grow to understand this treacherous world.
Tensions were just something we related with just pre-exam
anxiety (That too thanks to our great Indian education system). Otherwise
pressure and worries was something which didn’t figure in our regular routine.
No upsets, heart breaks, jealousy, negative competition, shrewdness,
selfishness. Life was so not complicated and real viz. emotions & people.
I’m sure every one of us gets endless pleasant memories as
we think about childhood. One memory leads to another and so on… A train of
memories! Right from ringing doorbells of our neighbours and running to jumping
in puddles of water and getting dirty. Each memory leaves a smile and it always
ends on a happy note.
They say it’s essential to behave responsibly, experience
the world and break out of our tiny cocoons. But it would be so nicer if none
of us grew up; so less hatred, jealousy and all the ill-feelings. That’s why I
never understood why we are asked to behave like grown ups right from the
start. In fact the reverse of it holds more sense to me. Considering the way we
turn out to be as adults, I feel we all should learn from children to enjoy
life everyday, never stress on anything, share whole heartedly, love
unconditionally and stay mad!
The whole zest of life is to live life; live it without any
regrets and laugh until you die. Then why be such jerks in the follow up to
becoming adults. Let’s sing, dance & make the aunts go mad! Because healthy
soul is equivalent to a healthy world.
