A Sky Full of Stars

We’re surrounded by an array of diverse mind blowing geography and life forms. Yet what we see is just a little speck of this ‘phenomenal’ ecosystem, because we’re so used to seeing the land as the only source of exploration.  Our daily life has made us so glued to looking horizontally, that we’ve forgotten the flexible functionality of our neck.

We haven’t even dived deep into the ocean. There is a far bigger universe inside that sunken treasure than the whole of our land can accommodate. With mountains bigger than Everest, Corals fascinating than man-made marvels and marine life complex and gorgeous than bird life, there is just so much that we’re unaware about. Although, magnanimous in size, explorations over several hundred years can make us fairly understand the mysteries of oceans, if not completely.

But there is also an infinite world out there, of which the Earth is just a tiny minuscule part. We’re just a very small part of the solar system, and again the solar system  is like a tiny dot on the Milky Way. Several innumerable solar systems like ours gather to make up our Milky Way. Also, there are several hundreds of galaxies like Milky Way which are out there and yet to be discovered.  Now imagine this jigsaw puzzle you’re looking at here in its totality. Take a gasp! What we thought to be magnificent on our planet is suddenly so not fancy. Is it?

This can be quite overwhelming, so take a breather and don’t be surprised when I say this can all be travelled across. Not by spending millions on an ambitious space project of Elon Musk’s SpaceX space crafts but by sitting on your cozy chair far away from the city lights and human settlements with minimal geographical barriers. There is no high that can be compared to this. The cosmic aura is such that it soon envelopes you into its arm and in no time you’re already space walking to find your favourite constellation.

My favourites are few secluded beaches down south where you lie on the beach and soak in the chills and epicness of the great gig in the sky. There is a different charm altogether to this activity, it’s so surreal that you actually travel far and wide while being stationed at one place. There is no better sight than a sky full of stars and some great, deep conversations which happen meanwhile, if you happen to tag along with an equally amazing partner. Also great debates on whether a shining object is a star or planet are the most interesting ones. So behold, if you’ve a great astronomical lover with you.

Sky gazing is for all age groups and is equally enticing to all. It is an excellent stress buster, in fact, it is more of a form of meditation wherein you conspire to be with the cosmos and surrender to the eternity.

'Cause you're a sky, 'cause you're a sky full of stars
I wanna die in your arms
'Cause you get lighter the more it gets dark
I'm gonna give you my heart

I don't care, go on and tear me apart
I don't care if you do, ooh
'Cause in a sky, 'cause in a sky full of stars
I think I see you
I think I see you

'Cause you're a sky, you're a sky full of stars
Such a heavenly view
You're such a heavenly view

P.S- Twinkling objects are stars. Planets emit a constant, steady source of light, and at times, look bigger than stars.
